I do believe I should start at the very beginning; it's what Maria did in The Sound of Music and look how it worked out for her, right? :)
My name is Courtney, I'm 23 years old, and I live in Valparaiso, Indiana. I'm originally from Dawsonville, Georgia, which is about an hour north of the good ol' ATL. I recently made a transplant from the South to the North to be a part of the organized chaos we call law school.
My years as an undergrad were spent at Kennesaw State University, where I played NCAA Div. 1 golf, earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Sports Marketing. It was there that I met my muy caliente boyfriend. I couldn't possibly describe myself as anything but the luckiest girl in the world. Remember those wonderful things you see in Disney movies that Prince Eric does for Ariel or Prince Phillip does for Aurora? Yep, I got one that does those things for me!
Anyways, I have an excellent family, consisting of the most amazing mom in the world, the most hilarious and dedicated dad, a sister with the biggest heart and prettiest blue eyes, and the coolest pets any girl could ask for. I will reference them often because they are such a huge part of my life, so get excited. :)
I have many favorite movies, TV shows, and types of music, but my two huge loves of my life are sports and reading. My favorite sport is baseball (no one else than the Atlanta Braves, Chop Chop!!!), with football (Dirty Birds!) and golf (love me some Phil Mickelson) following closely behind. My favorite authors are Jane Austen, the Bard himself, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and J.K Rowling (yes, solely due to my Harry Potter obsession).
I made the decision to go to law school very late in the game, as some would say. A friend of mine, who is also kicking ass in law school, went to a law school forum in Atlanta and brought home some pamphlets that I looked at. I made the decision, took the LSAT twice, applied, and was accepted! However, I learned of my acceptance less than two months before I needed to move, so the summer was kind of a blur.
My experience in law school, even though it's only been a semester, has been one of life-changing experiences. This is actually the purpose of this blog, to see how I've changed already and how my life will continue to change with this new life journey.
:) Got your message on FB. Glad I could help, haha. I drove past Park Place the other day while I was out looking at houses. Miss you, dude. See you when you come home for Christmas.
